Update on my PSP Music Story:
The story below about how I used to share and download Free PSP Music and how all of this free psp music downloads got me busted by the feds has created quite a stir.
People are Digging and bookmarking this page all over the net. My lawyer urged me to write a disclaimer and the PSP industry is freaking out since I now have written hundreds of articles all over the net with info on why the PSP industry scam you big time claiming you need to pay 60 bucks or more for games and fun stuff for your PSP. Also, there is no reason why you should buy CD's any longer instead of downloading.
The music industry will not go to hell.
They just need to adjust and that seem to be very hard for some fat fifty-something CEO's. I know because my father used to be one of them. Yes, they are making less money than they used to now but they still drive Porsches and Jaguars and make a buttload of cash from the major artists. Downloading music for your PSP or PC is maybe bad for Madonna or Michael Jackson but it is EXCELLENT for the smaller bands since the smaller bands will actually get their music spread further when people can download and spread the music to their friends so that they can listen to Free Music on their PSP, PC or iPhone etc. Less direct sales but a great way to accumulate a great number of fans. Any band or artist working smart will see the opportunity that lies within Free PSP Music Downloads. Sell merchendise and concert tickets to these fans and make a bunch of cash!

I rember it as clear as yesterday. The 26th of August 2006 goes down in history as my worst day ever. It was 6:47 am and I had just came out of the shower, getting ready for school when my mother says "Mark, there's a car in our driveway."
"A Car?" I replied.
A car in our driveway before 6:50 in the morning is not a normal sight, I though. I looked out the window and there it was. A shining black Buick Le Sabre sedan. Half a minute, or so, later it knocks on our door.
My mom opens...
"Good morning, 'Mam."
"Good morning guys, who are you?" my mom replies, still with sleep in her eyes.
"I am Jack (last name removed) and this is my partner Kim (last name removed). We are from the FBI and we have reason to believe that your son is engaged in criminal activity. May be come in?"
"Criminal...my son? What are 'ya talkin' about?" my mom is almost whispers with a shivering voice.
"Yes", Kim replies.
"Do you have a search warrant, or why are you here?" says mom.
"Of course we have. Let's go inside...".
I am shocked. I'm standing in the kitchen over-hearing the conversation. Me - a criminal? This must be an error, I thought. Kim tells me and my mom to sit down in the sofa and stay there. "Where is your PC, Mark?" Jack asks. "Are there more than one PC in this house, 'Mam?". "No," my mom says.
Kim sits down in the sofa with us while Jack goes to my room and turn on the PC. I can hear him going through my stuff. Drawers being opened. My guitars and drums being moved around...
"The reason why we came this early," Kim says, "is because we didn't want the neighbours to notice us, Mark. We don't want to create more problems for you than what you've allready gotten your self into."
"Eh...huh? What...? I mean.... What kind of mess am I in, exactly? I cannot recall doing anything illegal?"

It wasn't the Sherrif or the State Police that stood on our porch that morning. It was the FEDS! Damn it.... it was like I was in a movie or something. The freakin' FBI was in my house!
It turnes out that they had discovered, and exposed, a huge network of "net pirates". A swedish "company" operating one of the net's most popular Torrent sharing networks, The Pirate Bay, had got their servers busted earlier that summer, and in the process my IP address (address of my PC) came up.
Actually the White House, Washington, had put pressure on the Swedish Minister of Law and Order, Thomas Bodström to do the Razzia against the operator of Pirate Bay, Gottfrid Svartholm. The plan was to stop this super popular file sharing network for PC and Free PSP Music Downloads.
So.. as you can imagine I was in deeeeeep shit. I was on leaf-thin ice.
You see... I had shared my 10286 Songs, 3324 Videos, 667245 images and 64 PSP Games with the rest of the community. Just like the others, I had made my private collections available in order for me to access other peoples collections of music, videos etc.
The music and the vids were ofcourse copyright protected and it all was a massive operation against filesharers in over 20 countries led by the FEDS, in cooperatin with the Film industry in Hollywood. I cannot believe the power the guys in Hollywood have... They had actually done all the ground work. It was them that had infiltrated and exposed the filesharing operation of Pirate Bay as well as multiple other similar services.
NEVER AGAIN!
I am glad that the feds that came that day were nice and calm and didn't cause much stir. I still don't think many of my neighbors know what happened. I had to go to the local police office and they offered me a lawyer, but since I admitted that what I had done was stupid and since I was only 16 years old they were really cool and I didn't have to go to jail. I had to go to court though. I got a 3000 usd fine (oh, was my mom mad at me!!!) and two a year probation time.
Since they had deleted all the files on my computer I had no music or films left so I had to find a way to getting more files. I really need to listen to music and I love gaming, especially on my PSP, so after thouroughly research, and even speaking to my lawyer, I found a few sites online that offered free sharing of music and video files without the risk of being caught for doing anything illegal. I'd be stupid to go down that road again.
PSP Blender was the best of the sites I found. They've been online for many many years now, and never had problems with the government, film industry or the police as far as I've been able to find out.
